The neighborhoods of Long Island City: Hunters Point by Bob Singleton - Long Island City historian and president of the Greater Astoria Historical Society The slide lecture and talk will give a historical overview of Hunters Point as the traditional commercial and transportation hub of Long Island City. The lecture will also examine how many recent development proposals are a rehash of ideas first discussed as much as a hundred years ago.   The first of a series of lectures discussing the neighborhoods that make up Long Island City.
