Public Hearing At St. Mary's Church

Re: The Bridge

Joseph Conley, Chairman of Community Board #2, revealed a plan to save 70% of the Vernon Boulevard bridge at an October 24 public hearing. Those who knew about the meeting were there to vote. Their options were either to save 70% of the bridge or destroy the bridge. Most stood up and said that if the entire bridge could not be kept, retaining a portion was the next best thing.

The Community Board functions as an advisory group and in some situations is influential, but not with Queens West. The bridge is gone. Blantant disrespect for the neighborhood is angering more people.
